2005 Annual Meeting ~
Archives In Binary: Electronic Records, Digital Surrogates, and Business as
Usual
While archives will always include traditional media, “born digital”
electronic records and patron demand for digital surrogates of archival
resources are increasingly expanding the nature of archival work. Storage,
preservation, access, reference, and the human resources that create and manage
these digital collections are all impacted by the growth of a
technologically-dependent world. This year’s annual meeting will explore the
implications of electronic records and digitization and suggest practical
solutions for tackling what can be an unfamiliar and overwhelming body of
material.
Mark your calendar now for November 2-4, 2005! The 36th Annual Meeting of the Society of Georgia Archivists will take place
in Augusta, Georgia.
