Tour of Mercer University Archives and Special Collections (23 Oct 2026)

Join the Outreach Committee on October 23rd from 1pm to 2pm for a tour of the Mercer University Archives and Special Collections! The archives and special collections are in the Jack Tarver Library located at 1501 Mercer University Drive in Macon, GA.

The Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives department of Mercer University Libraries preserves materials related to Mercer University history and Baptist life in Georgia. It makes these materials available to students, faculty/staff, genealogists, churches, independent researchers, and others both in-person and through URSA, its digital repository.

Parking is free and spaces will be reserved ahead of time with campus police. Tour capacity is limited to 15 registrants and is open for bringing a guest (guests count towards the total capacity).

Registration is now open for vendors, exhibitors, and sponsors for the 2026 Society of Georgia Archivists Annual Meeting, taking place November 5-6, 2026, at the Gainesville Civic Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

In addition to our traditional exhibitor packages, we are excited to offer several new sponsorship opportunities that do not require conference attendance or an exhibit table. Organizations can support the meeting through session sponsorships, meal and event sponsorships, advertising opportunities, and other promotional options designed to increase visibility.

Welcome to the 2026 SGA Annual Meeting, Hardening the Archive: Moving from Storage to Strategy. Society of Georgia Archivists invites you to attend the meeting, to be held at the Gainesville Civic Center, Gainesville, Georgia, Thursday, November 5 through Friday, November 6, 2026.

We are excited to host a day full of presentations, working groups, skills labs, and demonstrations on a broad spectrum of archival work as we move from the basics into strategy. Our keynote speaker is former SGA President, Angela Stanley, Assistant State Librarian and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Collaboration with Georgia Public Library Service.

Continental breakfast and snacks will be provided during the meeting, and a Thursday evening reception will be held at Bourbon Brothers Smokehouse and Tavern with a light dinner and cash bar. More information to come!

You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay online. If you do not wish to pay online, please select the option to complete online registration then pay by mailing a check to the Society of Georgia Archivists Treasurer (address in payment window).

The Early Bird window for registration will close on October 9, 2026. The regular registration window will close the week before the meeting, October 29, 2026. On-site registration will include a late fee.

Cancellations are to be refunded as follows:

Registrations cancelled more than 60 days before the event will be refunded 100% of the registration fees.

Registrations cancelled less than 60 but more than 30 days before the event will be refunded 50% of the registration fees.

Registrations cancelled less than 30 days before the event will not be eligible for a refund.

Tour of Delta Flight Museum and Archives [Registration will open Nov. 2nd] (13 Nov 2026)

Join the SGA Outreach Committee for a tour of the Delta Flight Museum and archives on November 13th at 10:30 am.

The Delta Flight Museum is located in Delta's original 1940s-era aircraft hangars in Atlanta. In December 2024, the Museum embarked on a large-scale exhibition refresh project in the hangars that lasted through March 2025 in celebration of the centennial celebration of Delta Air Lines.

Parking is free at the Museum. Visitors will park in the Visitor Center parking lot. Handicap parking is also available. Please look over the important notes and directions, and be sure to bring a valid government issued ID. Feel free to direct any questions or concerns related to the tour to outreach@soga.org.
